HGUC 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam [Terrestrial Campaign Use]

This is supposed to be a Gundam to be used in atmospheric conditions.  I've added a 100 mm auto-cannon to its right arm hard-point and modified a slew of other less-noticeable areas.

First project in ages!  I am setting aside the Phantom (FSS) for now and working on an 'easy' kit. It's never stock, even though I intend it to start that way. First it starts with replacement hands, and then I thought - - hey, the shoulders are ugly from the inside, and it snowballs.

The default beam rifle was, for some reason, wobbled off to the right and I tried to re-bend it with a heat-gun with no success.  Instead, I melted the barrel while underestimating its strength.  So I had to saw it off and make a new barrel from a series of spare parts and tubes.  I wanted to turn a regular type of barrel on the lathe I have, but as I have no plastic stock that is 5 mm in diameter yet, I decided for the telescopic tube approach.  Such a small thing takes 4 hours!

Surface Geeables added, and panel lines scribed.  The Kotobukiya Round Hands 1/144 were used, opting for a more "MSG" look than the newer take on square-handed EFSF machines.  All despite, the hands needed extensive work in order to grip the small handled beam rifle.  The trigger finger is now pose-able without looking like ass, too.
